Two saltwater jigging rods can share a blank description and still require different buying decisions. The GOOFISH Ocean Assassin and Mighty Deep Pink differ in listed length, PE line class, recommended jig range, guide components and available reel configurations.
The useful question is not which product has the largest number in its graphics. It is which documented configuration fits your regular jigs, compatible reel and transport space. This guide compares the current specifications of these two products, not the entire GOOFISH range.
This is a specification-based buying guide, not a hands-on test. It does not claim that either rod catches more fish, has superior recovery or supports a particular fishing-drag setting.
Start with the exact models
The Ocean Assassin MH Fast action jigging rod is approximately 193cm long, with one-piece spinning and casting configurations in yellow or blue. Its confirmed recommended jig range is 200–650g, and the product chart lists PE3–6.
The Mighty Deep Pink PE4–7 slow pitch jigging rod is approximately 183cm long and one piece. Its chart recommends 200–550g jigs and lists 700g separately as the maximum. It offers spinning, standard casting and left or right spiral-wrap casting options.
These Mighty Deep figures describe the Pink PE4–7 model. Do not apply them to the separate PE1.5–4, max 300g model merely because it shares the series name.

Recommended jig weight: compare your regular range
For regular 350–500g jigs, both recommended ranges include those weights. That overlap does not establish identical feel, loading or recovery. Reel layout, line class and the other documented differences still matter.
At 600g, the Ocean Assassin's confirmed recommendation includes the weight, while the Mighty Deep Pink chart places it above its recommended 200–550g range but below its listed 700g maximum. Do not describe those two specifications as identical recommendations.
Depth alone is not a fixed selector for jig weight. Current, drift, line resistance and jig shape influence practical control. A larger listed maximum is not an instruction to use a heavier jig by default.
The Ocean Assassin's retained bend illustration includes 200g, 400g, 600g and 800g test labels. The 800g label is not an additional recommended jig rating. Use the confirmed 200–650g recommendation rather than extending it from a demonstration.
Spinning, casting or spiral wrap: choose the reel layout
Both products offer spinning and casting configurations. Choose the layout compatible with your reel rather than treating them as interchangeable options differentiated only by appearance.
Mighty Deep Pink additionally lists left spiral-wrap casting for right-handle reels and right spiral-wrap casting for left-handle reels. Wrap direction describes the guide layout; it is not the reel-handle side. Read the entire variant name before ordering.
The inspected Ocean Assassin options are standard spinning and casting models. They do not establish those same spiral-wrap choices. If that configuration is part of your buying decision, compare the Mighty Deep Pink spiral-wrap casting options directly.
Guide frames and inserts are different specifications
The Ocean Assassin lists titanium alloy guide frames with SiC inserts. The Mighty Deep Pink component graphics identify FUJI KW-series frames, Alconite inserts and a SiC tip-top.
A titanium frame is not a ceramic insert, and a SiC tip-top does not mean every ring in a guide set uses SiC. Describe each component accurately rather than reducing the entire rod to one material name.
These component combinations do not, by themselves, prove a complete rod is more sensitive or suitable for greater fishing drag. Inspect guide inserts, bindings and reel-seat fit on the actual outfit. Premium component terminology does not remove the need for care.
Length, weight and one-piece transport
Both rods require storage and transport space for the full rod length. Ocean Assassin is approximately 10cm longer on the listed measurements. Measure your usable space, including a protective case, rather than assuming both fit because their names begin with 6ft.
Ocean Assassin lists approximately 260g for spinning and 280g for casting. Mighty Deep Pink lists approximately 228g for standard spinning and 218g for standard casting. Compare like-for-like reel configurations: separate weights for Mighty Deep Pink's spiral-wrap variants are not specified in its chart.
These are rod weights, not blank-only measurements. They do not establish outfit balance, fatigue or field performance without considering the reel and actual use.
PE line class is not a universal strength conversion
PE3–6 and PE4–7 are line-sizing guidance, not pound-test ranges. Check the actual braid's diameter and stated strength alongside reel capacity, leader and connections. Do not convert the PE numbers into a universal safe-drag formula.
Ocean Assassin's original material includes a 47kg blank-test statement and demonstrations around 25kg. Mighty Deep Pink artwork includes a 20kg deadlift demonstration. These are not fishing-drag recommendations or permission to lift fish with the rod.
Avoid high-sticking and use appropriate landing equipment. Blank tests, fixture demonstrations and a complete fishing outfit are different systems.
Which configuration should you shortlist?
- Shortlist Ocean Assassin when its confirmed 200–650g range, PE3–6 guidance and spinning or casting configuration match your intended use.
- Shortlist Mighty Deep Pink when its recommended 200–550g range, PE4–7 guidance and available reel layouts fit your setup.
- If spiral-wrap casting is required, check the exact Mighty Deep variant and reel-handle compatibility.
- For either model, confirm full-length transport space and choose using the regular working range, not demonstration loads.
Frequently asked questions
Is Mighty Deep Pink recommended for 700g jigs throughout its range?
Its chart separates the 200–550g recommendation from the 700g maximum. Keep those numbers separate when planning regular use.
Does Ocean Assassin's 800g bend image extend its recommended range?
No. The bend labels illustrate test loads. The confirmed recommended jig range is 200–650g.
Can I use either jig rating as a casting-weight allowance?
Do not automatically convert vertical-jigging guidance into a casting rating. Follow model-specific instructions for the intended technique.
Which rod is stronger or more sensitive?
The inspected specifications do not establish a comparative performance winner. This guide compares configurations, not independently measured sensitivity or strength.
Bottom line: Compare the Ocean Assassin spinning and casting configurations with the Mighty Deep Pink configurations using your real jig range, reel and transport requirements. A good match is more useful than the biggest number in a graphic.
