Choose a fishing rod for the way you fish, then compare the rating and configuration of the exact model. This range includes boat jigging, popping, bass, trout, trolling and ice fishing rods, with different lengths, section designs and reel layouts.
Find your fishing rod by technique
Start with slow pitch jigging rods for slow-pitch setups, fast jigging rods for vertical speed jigging, or light jigging rods to compare the Ares Light models. For casting surface lures, compare the popping models rather than treating a vertical jig rating as a casting allowance.
Compare fit before choosing a model
- Lure or jig rating: match your intended presentation to the range stated on the product page. A maximum rating is not a recommended weight for every situation.
- Reel configuration: spinning and casting versions have different reel-seat and guide layouts. Select the version for your reel.
- Transport length: check the full length of a one-piece rod or the listed packed length of a multi-piece model. A butt joint does not necessarily create equal-length sections.
Check each product's line class, power, action and available variants before ordering. Ratings vary by model; color can identify a different specification rather than just a finish.
