Annotated complete-rod and section concepts
These photographic-style design illustrations add English specification labels to the existing engineering brief. They are not stock photographs, scale drawings or verified FUJI component photographs. Guide positions and drawn section proportions are illustrative; the written candidate bill of materials and approved supplier drawings govern.

The GOOFISH® Brineveil 763 is a proposed three-piece inshore travel spinning rod for anglers working lighter lures around estuaries, bays, piers and accessible shorelines. Its 2.29 m assembled-length target pairs a triggerless spinning layout with two distinct blank specifications: 763ML, targeting 7–28 g fully rigged lures and PE0.6–1.2, or 763M, targeting 10–35 g and PE0.8–1.5. Both target Fast action. Choose the specification first, then Lagoon Slate or Oyster Plum.
Development status: This is a design-stage rod awaiting supplier samples. Dimensions, ratings, guide layout and material choices are proposed targets, not measured or certified production specifications. Generated images are concept visualizations, not actual stock photographs, exact FUJI geometry or manufacturing drawings. Genuine component identities do not establish whole-rod performance or fit.
Brineveil: design philosophy
Brineveil describes the restrained coastal color palette and a lighter inshore role. The 763 model family identifies the approximately 7 ft 6 in, three-piece concept; the controlling metric length is 2290 mm. The aim is a compact insert-joint travel format rather than another two-piece offshore popping rod or a heavy vertical-jigging blank.
The upper section should initiate lure loading and transmit small controlled movements, with the middle and butt engaging progressively as load increases. Three sections are intended to reduce packed length, but adding joints does not automatically preserve one-piece behavior. Each taper and both joints need their own validation.

| Packed-length development goal | Longest section no more than 820 mm before an outer case; unmeasured, not a luggage allowance guarantee | |
| Unassigned until sample approval | Finished mass, balance, final tip/butt diameters, safe working drag, recovery time, maximum lifting load and tested casting distance | |
These are two separately developed taper targets, not one blank carrying two labels. Color is cosmetic and does not change Power, Action or lure range. Lure mass includes hooks, rings, jigheads, soft plastics and other attached hardware. PE is a line-sizing class, not a guaranteed pound-test conversion.
Do not divide 2290 mm by three and publish that as packed length. Joint overlap, taper geometry and handle placement affect cut lengths. The supplier must resolve both engagement zones, section lengths and the 820 mm packed-length goal together. A travel designation does not establish airline carry-on acceptance.
Action, Power, bending profile and recovery
Power describes resistance to deflection; Action describes where bending develops under a specified load and support arrangement. Fast is not the same as stiff throughout the rod. The intended small-load response is upper-section-led, with progressive midsection and butt engagement as load rises. Neither joint should produce a sharp local hinge or an abrupt flat zone. Do not convert this target into a fixed 7:3 bend ratio without a defined test.
Recovery speed and damping are separate measurements, not synonyms for Fast action. Compare samples with documented support span, rod angle, load direction, incremental loads and recovery method. Use an agreed ML and M reference to evaluate the respective Power targets, then conduct casting and lure-control trials. Lure weight alone does not prove Power; a rendered curve does not certify a blank.
Develop a carbon-composite blank layup appropriate to this role. Modulus, resin system, wall thickness and reinforcement need supplier engineering. No Solid Nano tip, exact carbon tonnage, nanomaterial percentage or tested sensitivity improvement is claimed for Brineveil. Do not borrow a construction claim from another GOOFISH rod.
FUJI candidate bill of materials
The following model families and catalog dimensions are supported by the Anglers Resource FUJI listings. These are procurement candidates, not confirmed installed parts. The supplier must confirm genuine sourcing, current size-specific ordering codes, actual availability and compatibility before approving a build.
| Component | Candidate and initial sample layout | Fit and layout checks |
|---|---|---|
| Reduction train | FUJI PKLSG-H family, polished stainless frames with Slim SiC rings; nominal 20H, 10H and 6M, one each proposed | Confirm height/size-specific ordering suffixes. Develop reduction geometry with the actual reel, spool, line and leader knot; do not select positions from a picture |
| Belly guides | FUJI PKBSG-S, nominal size 6; two proposed | Locate the wide-foot belly guides through static load-path checks; placement must account for both joints |
| Tip-section runners | FUJI PKTSG-S, nominal size 6; four proposed | Confirm line clearance and distribution; final count and positions may change after testing |
| Tip-top | FUJI PMNST polished SiC, nominal ring size 6 | Tube bore deliberately unassigned until the finished tip is measured. Select an actually available ring/tube combination; do not assume ring size equals tube size |
| Reel seat | FUJI DPSM17BC; catalog inside diameter 17.0 mm, outside diameter 20.0 mm, length 119 mm | These are seat dimensions, not blank measurements. Confirm reel-foot fit, full locking engagement, arbor support and bonded interfaces |
The starting train is nine guides plus a tip-top: three reduction guides, two belly guides and four runners. It is a sample layout, not a finished production specification. Nominal ring sizes are not clear-bore measurements. Record exact supplied part codes and dimensions, and test the intended knot through the completed train.
Retain genuine component finishes. Do not paint ring inserts, guide feet, tube bores, threads or locking hardware to match the color scheme. Stainless steel is not a promise of corrosion immunity. The layout may be shared as a starting point between ML and M, but each taper needs an independent line-path and casting assessment.

Eight-part technical design brief
01 Tip and tip-top installation

Develop each finished tip diameter from the required taper and load behavior, then match the PMNST tube from a measured sample. Do not grind a tip excessively to fit a predetermined tube. Check insert edges, tube engagement, alignment and adhesive process. The ML should load with its proposed lighter rigged lure without collapsing during a controlled retrieve; the M needs its own verification at the heavier target.
02 Guide train and wraps
Use the stated KL-H / KB / KT / MN candidates for the first layout. Check static line clearance over a defined loading range, casting line flow, knot passage and guide-frame alignment. Develop exact spacing after both joints and the reel position are resolved. Prepare feet, wraps and finish with no sharp exposed edges or heavy cosmetic resin build-up. A guide count does not by itself establish a good layout.
03 Blank taper and section transitions

Design separate ML and M layups around the proposed lure and line classes. Resolve section wall thickness, reinforcement and taper transitions through supplier analysis and physical samples. Evaluate the complete assembled blank rather than testing only the upper section. Avoid decorative sanding or machining that removes structural fibers. Finished tip and butt diameters remain release measurements, not invented specifications.
04 Two put-over joints
Propose an upper-over-lower put-over arrangement at both connections, subject to blank engineering. Assign matching section identifiers and alignment ticks. Establish engagement, fit, manufacturing tolerances, reinforcement and wear criteria for each joint individually. A generic spigot-gap rule is not a specification for a put-over joint.
Confirm repeat assembly, loosening during casting, load continuity, straightness and removal without damaging the blank. Set cut lengths only after the two overlap regions are approved. Do not bridge a removable joint with a wrap or place a guide foot where it interferes with engagement.
05 Foregrip

Initial EVA length target is 25 mm, with approximately 23 mm maximum outside diameter as a sample starting point. Preserve access to the DPSM locking nut. Develop the front transition and adhesive assembly around the actual seat and blank. A short foregrip is a contact surface, not a lifting point or permission to high-stick.
06 Reel seat and handle datum
Use the DPSM17BC candidate in a triggerless spinning arrangement. The initial seat-body-midpoint-to-butt datum is 300 mm for ML and 320 mm for M; this is not necessarily the actual reel-foot center, which must be measured on the chosen reel. Use the 119 mm catalog seat-body length when developing the dimensional chain.
Confirm installed reel feet, hood engagement, nut travel, arbor geometry and hand clearance with real reels. Generic 2500 or 3000 size labels are only a trial starting point, not a compatibility guarantee. Do not alter the genuine seat's locking threads or add a casting trigger.
07 Rear EVA grip and exposed split section

Initial rear EVA targets are 180 × 24 mm length/outside diameter for ML and 200 × 25 mm for M. Use a subtle three-ridge contact texture that stays within the grip material; do not cut decorative grooves into the blank. Determine final exposed-gap length from the full handle datum, seat, cap, trim and grip assembly rather than stacking unrelated numbers.
Evaluate two-handed casting reach, wrist clearance, wet-hand comfort, bonding and balance with a representative reel. Select EVA firmness and density from actual samples, not a cosmetic render. No certified slip resistance is claimed.
08 Butt cap and trim
Proposed butt-cap envelope is approximately 28 mm maximum outside diameter and 15 mm axial length, with a rounded end and a recessed three-line emblem. Treat these as sample dimensions and resolve the cap-to-grip transition separately for ML and M. Keep trim narrow and nonstructural. Check adhesive retention and edge safety; a decorative cap is not a fighting gimbal or waterproof seal.
GOOFISH Strata-Three visual identity
Use three short offset parallel lines on the lower blank, a small GOOFISH wordmark and a secondary Brineveil 763ML or 763M identifier. Repeat one, two and three small section marks to simplify matching the butt, mid and tip. Keep assembly alignment ticks separate from decorative marks so the purpose is clear. Use a quiet upper blank and fine wrap borders rather than a full-length busy pattern.
The proposed palette is distinct within this model's design brief, not a claim that no competitor uses similar colors. Use approved GOOFISH artwork for production; generated lettering is not the final print master.

432 C, 3165 C, Warm Gray 1 C and 5195 C are Solid Coated graphics references. 876 C is a Metallics Coated reference. These are physical visual standards, not rod-paint recipes, anodizing formulas or EVA compound specifications. Digital images are not PANTONE-certified matches.
Matte coating approval
Approve cured paint coupons on the actual blank substrate with the intended clearcoat and surface texture. Check color, sheen, adhesion, rubbing and flexibility after curing. Compare the fully wrapped rod as resin can change thread appearance. Agree supplier-specific color/gloss acceptance criteria after physical sampling, rather than inventing an untested Delta E or gloss threshold.
Metallic trim approval
Approve the real 876 C-inspired trim or infill under multiple light angles. Metallic ink, plated metal, anodizing and a printed metallic standard may not match identically. Keep any metal trim away from structural interference and confirm weight, edge safety and finish durability. Do not recolor genuine FUJI hardware or silently substitute an ornamental metal finish.
EVA approval
Approve actual EVA density, firmness, compression recovery, surface feel, bonded interfaces and charcoal color together. Use the real grip with its shallow contact texture as the appearance master. Foam cannot be expected to reproduce the sheen of coated paper. Check the assembled grip after wet/dry handling and retain physical masters for later batches.
Intended lures, fishing methods and environments
Candidate applications are casting and retrieving suitable soft-plastic rigs, small minnows, light spoons, small metal lures and compact surface lures within the approved rigged-weight range. Evaluate lure resistance and hook type independently from casting weight. A broad cupped popper or deep-diving lure can load the rod differently from a compact lure of the same mass.
Target environments are open estuary banks, bays, sheltered harbor edges, piers and accessible shoreline with a practical landing plan. Casting from an open small-boat deck is also a candidate use. Strong current, heavy surf, dense cover and high landing walls may require a different outfit. Do not assign a fixed fishing depth or casting distance to this concept.
Smaller spotted seatrout, school-size redfish, small snook and other appropriately sized inshore fish are possible applications, subject to the complete outfit, structure and verified working limits. Species names do not establish a drag setting or safe fish weight. This is not a heavy-GT, large-tuna, heavy-cover extraction, offshore popping, trolling or deep-water vertical-jigging specification.
Practical selection guide
- Weigh the complete lure or rig with hooks and hardware. Choose the ML target for 7–28 g or the M target for 10–35 g only after sample ranges are validated. The overlap does not mean both blanks feel identical.
- Match line diameter, knot and leader to the actual guide train. PE class is not a breaking-strain guarantee, and a size-6 ring label is not its clear knot passage.
- Check the real spinning reel foot, line capacity and outfit balance. Do not assume an existing reel fits simply because it is used on another GOOFISH rod.
- Measure actual packed sections and the intended transport case. The 820 mm goal remains unverified until the joint design is approved.
- Choose Lagoon Slate or Oyster Plum. Finish does not change the specification.
Before production and customer sale
Confirm assembled and packed lengths, finished mass, balance, tip/butt diameters, all handle dimensions, genuine FUJI order codes, final guide count and spacing, joint engagement and reel-seat fit separately for both tapers. Evaluate controlled load-deflection behavior, recovery, casting range, comfortable lure-working range and joint stability with documented methods.
Use manufacturer-defined structural and durability tests and acceptance criteria; an improvised lifting demonstration does not establish a drag rating. No maximum fish weight, lifting capacity, safe working drag, casting-distance guarantee, sensitivity improvement or one-piece-equivalent strength claim is assigned without evidence. Measure actual shipping mass and packed dimensions before entering fulfillment data.
Included equipment and care
Proposed contents: one three-section rod in the selected specification and finish, plus a simple separated-section fabric sock after its fit is approved. Reel, line, lures and a hard travel case are not included. Do not show a rigid tube as included without adding and validating it.
Rinse gently after saltwater use, inspect the rings and joint surfaces, and dry all sections before packing. Assemble on clean surfaces using the approved engagement method and recheck joints during fishing. Avoid high-sticking and lifting fish with the rod; use appropriate landing equipment. Protect both the tip and guide frames during transport.
