Recommended design specifications

Proposed configurations: paired 2/0 hooks with 20 mm assist cords, or paired 3/0 hooks with 30 mm assist cords. Black hook finish with red braided cord. Supplier hook sizing, cord dimensions and jig fit require sample validation; no tested strength rating is assigned.

Design philosophy

Two proposed paired-hook assemblies simplify replacement and matching by hook geometry and cord length rather than fish-name marketing. Red cords provide visual contrast during rig inspection.

Intended fishing methods and target fish

Design application: slow-pitch and vertical metal-jig rigs. Candidate applications include snapper, sea bass and appropriately sized grouper rigs, but suitability depends on actual hook dimensions, strength tests, jig size and local hook regulations.

How to choose

Compare actual hook gape, wire diameter and overall length: 2/0 and 3/0 labels vary between suppliers. Confirm whether cord length is measured including or excluding the attachment loop. Check that paired hooks cannot wrap around the jig, catch each other or obstruct the lure. Hook points, cord joints and rings require inspection and load testing; no breaking-strength or fish-weight limit is claimed.
