Recommended design specifications

Proposed small set: 6 mm outer-diameter solid rings with 7 mm outer-diameter split rings. Proposed large set: 8 mm solid rings with 9 mm split rings. Target pack: five of each ring type. Dimensions, wire gauge, material and strength require sample testing; no breaking-strength rating is assigned.

Design philosophy

A small, clearly measured hardware range designed to make jig-rig assembly easier. Two proposed size groups avoid an oversized mixed kit with unclear component dimensions.

Intended fishing methods and target fish

Design application: connecting components in vertical jigging rigs. The kit is not species-rated; suitability for snapper, grouper, yellowtail or other fish depends on verified working loads of the entire rig, not ring diameter alone.

How to choose

OD means outer diameter, not inner clearance. Check wire diameter, split-ring opening, hook-eye clearance and the intended rig layout. A solid ring and split ring are not interchangeable components. Ring size alone does not establish strength; material, construction and load-test results must be verified before assigning a load rating. Inspect split rings after opening and replace distorted parts.
