Annotated complete-rod and section concepts
These photographic-style design illustrations add English specification labels to the existing engineering brief. They are not stock photographs, scale drawings or verified FUJI component photographs. Guide positions and drawn section proportions are illustrative; the written candidate bill of materials and approved supplier drawings govern.

AI concept renders: visual appearance proposal only. Component geometry, part count, color and performance require approval against physical samples; these images are not production photographs.
The GOOFISH® Tideglide 80M is a light saltwater popping rod design for anglers who want to cast smaller poppers and stickbaits from boats and open shorelines. Its proposed two-piece spinning configuration combines a 2.44 m length with a 20–60 g rigged-lure target, M power and Fast action.
This product is awaiting sample approval. All dimensions and performance ratings below are design targets, not verified production specifications. Illustrations show design intent, not a finished product or manufacturing drawing.
Tideglide 80M: design philosophy
Tideglide describes controlled lure movement across the surface. The proposed model code 80M identifies the approximately 8 ft format and Medium power target; the controlling metric length is 2.44 m. The concept fills a lighter casting role rather than duplicating a heavy offshore popping outfit. A charcoal blank, teal accents and black EVA split grip provide a consistent visual identity. The two-piece arrangement is intended to simplify transport without assuming an unmeasured packed length.
Proposed rod specifications
| Selection parameter | Design target |
|---|---|
| Configuration | Spinning, triggerless reel seat |
| Assembled length | 2.44 m, approximately 8 ft |
| Sections | Two approximately equal sections; put-over joint proposed |
| Rigged lure weight | 20–60 g including hooks and connecting hardware |
| Line class | PE1.5–3; not a breaking-strength guarantee |
| Power | M / Medium, subject to sample load-deflection comparison |
| Action | Fast, subject to measured deflection and casting evaluation |
| Grip and finish | Black EVA split grip, charcoal finish and teal trim |
| Unverified measurements | Finished mass, packed length, tip/butt diameters, grip dimensions, final guide count/spacing and usable drag remain unverified |
Action, power and bending profile: separate requirements
Action describes where a rod initially bends under a defined load; power describes resistance to bending. Recovery behavior is a separate property. The Fast action target calls for tip-biased initial bending with a smooth transition into the middle section as load increases, without an abrupt hinge at the joint. It does not mean an extra-stiff tip or a particular recovery speed. Medium power must be established against a documented reference and repeatable load-deflection method, not inferred from lure weight alone.
Do not translate Fast action into a guaranteed 7:3, 2:8 or fixed bend ratio. Record support conditions, span, load direction and rod angle when assessing samples. Compare deflection curves and recovery consistently. The illustrated curve, if shown in a concept drawing, is not a measured test result.
Proposed FUJI component specification
The following named FUJI components are documented in the Anglers Resource catalog. This verifies the catalog identity, not their installation on this rod, local availability or compatibility with an unbuilt sample. All selections remain a proposed bill of materials until the supplier confirms genuine parts, exact ordering codes and measured fit.
| Position | Candidate model and sample configuration | Required verification |
|---|---|---|
| Reduction guides | FUJI TKWSG-S, titanium frame with Slim SiC insert; start sample layout with nominal ring sizes 25, 16 and 10, one each | Confirm exact size-specific ordering codes with distributor; match the actual spinning reel, spool diameter, line-release geometry and leader knot |
| Running guides | FUJI TKTSG, titanium frame with Slim SiC insert; begin evaluation with nominal size 8, five guides | Adjust count and spacing through static load-path and casting tests; this eight-guide-plus-tip layout is not a final production layout |
| Tip-top | FUJI TMNST, titanium frame with SiC insert; nominal ring size 8 proposed | Order the tube size only after measuring the actual finished tip and confirming the joint/adhesive requirements. Do not infer tube diameter from ring size |
| Reel seat | FUJI DPSM18BC, size 18 with gunsmoke hood; catalog dimensions: 18.0 mm inside diameter, 21.0 mm outside diameter, 124 mm length | These are component catalog dimensions, not blank measurements. Measure blank diameter at the seat, plan proper bonded arbors and confirm candidate reel-foot fit and hood travel |
The titanium/SiC proposal prioritizes guide mass and finish quality. Do not paint or machine genuine guide frames or reel-seat hardware to create the brand decoration without supplier approval; keep styling on blank finish, grip surfaces, wraps and non-critical trim. A FUJI component name alone does not establish whole-rod durability or corrosion resistance.

GOOFISH Tideline Signature styling
The proposed visual identity uses low-gloss graphite charcoal, a restrained deep-petrol teal accent and satin titanium hardware. Instead of full-length decorative graphics, place one asymmetric contour-line motif on the butt section. Keep the upper blank visually quiet to make the butt artwork and branding the focal point. This is an original design direction proposed for GOOFISH, not a patent, trademark clearance or a claim of uniqueness across the market.
- Brand placement: one GOOFISH wordmark on the butt blank, separate Tideglide 80M model identification and a small abstract single-wave emblem. Final artwork must use approved brand files, not the renderer's letter shapes.
- Specification panel: reserve a compact opposite-side area for approved length, lure range, PE class, Power and Action. Do not permanently mark unverified performance ratings as tested.
- Joint alignment: two subtle matching teal registration ticks indicate assembly alignment; they do not replace measured engagement checks.
- Guide wraps: charcoal thread with a narrow teal boundary; minimize excessive finish buildup and avoid decorative alterations to genuine FUJI components.
- Grip treatment: shallow oblique texture confined to the EVA rear-grip surface, subject to comfort and durability tests. No decorative cuts into the blank, structural joint or reel seat.
- Butt signature: a recessed wave motif on the protective cap, without a protruding metal ornament or unverified waterproof claim.
Specify repeatable color standards, artwork positions and finishing tolerances after physical samples, rather than assigning production tolerances from generated images. Guide geometry and all FUJI part dimensions must follow genuine components, not concept-rendered shapes.
Component-by-component design requirements
01 Tip and tip-top

The tip must load progressively with the lower end of the intended rigged-lure range while retaining control for short lure movements. Tip-top bore must match the actual tip diameter. Check insert edges and bonding, line clearance and impact damage. Use the proposed FUJI TMNST tip-top described below; tube size and blank construction remain unverified.
02 Spinning guide train
Develop guide sizes and positions with the intended reel, braid and leader knot, rather than copying an arbitrary guide count. Use static line-path checks to prevent blank contact through the agreed working envelope, then casting tests to assess line slap, knot passage and tangles. Inspect frames, inserts, wraps and cured finish. Named FUJI candidates are specified below; actual installation, procurement and whole-rod corrosion performance remain unverified.
03 Blank and taper

Specify the taper and reinforcement only after evaluating the target action, power and rigged-lure range together. Assess smooth load transfer and recovery with repeatable samples. Blank material, resin system, modulus and Solid Nano construction are not established for this new model and must not be borrowed from other GOOFISH rods.
04 Two-piece joint
The proposed put-over connection requires sample-specific engagement length, fit and reinforcement. Check alignment, repeat assembly, loosening and stress concentration. Do not specify an intentional spigot gap for a different joint type. The supplier must determine and verify the actual engagement and fit tolerances before production.
05 Foregrip

A short EVA foregrip should provide clearance for the proposed reel-seat hood and comfortable support during lure work. Confirm length and diameter with handling tests. Its presence does not authorize high-sticking or lifting a fish with the rod.
06 Reel seat
Use a triggerless spinning seat with a secure locking hood. Test actual reel-foot width, thickness, hood engagement and thread clearance with candidate reels. Confirm that the assembled reel does not rock or loosen during repeated casting and lure work; generic reel-size labels do not establish fit.
07 Rear grip

Develop rear-grip length from reel-foot center to butt and validate two-handed casting, forearm clearance and lure-work ergonomics. Select EVA dimensions and adhesive assembly after sample testing rather than inventing fixed dimensions from the render.
08 Butt cap and finishing
Use a rounded protective cap with secure attachment and comfortable contact. Avoid sharp trim edges, exposed adhesive and guide-wrap defects. A cap or sealed trim does not establish waterproof construction. Record actual finished mass, balance point and transport length after assembly.
PANTONE color placement and finish specification

These PANTONE references are proposed physical color-matching targets, not colors measured from the renders. Use current genuine physical swatches. Solid Coated references describe printed color standards; they do not prescribe a rod-coating formula, thread dye, anodizing bath or EVA compound. The 876 C metallic reference belongs to Metallics Coated, not Solid Coated.
| Part / detail | Petrol Graphite | Mist Aubergine |
|---|---|---|
| Blank base coating | PANTONE 432 C reference, low-gloss blue-charcoal direction | PANTONE Warm Gray 1 C reference, low-gloss warm mist-grey direction |
| Asymmetric butt-section tide-line artwork | PANTONE 3165 C reference | PANTONE 5195 C reference |
| Joint alignment ticks | PANTONE 3165 C reference | PANTONE 5195 C reference |
| Fine boundary on charcoal guide-wrap thread | PANTONE 3165 C reference for the cured appearance | PANTONE 5195 C reference for the cured appearance |
| GOOFISH wordmark and model identifier | PANTONE Warm Gray 1 C reference, nonmetallic ink | PANTONE 5195 C reference, nonmetallic ink |
| Nonstructural trim accent | Unpainted satin silver appearance; approve a physical finish sample, not a falsely assigned metallic PANTONE match | PANTONE 876 C metallic visual reference, confined to small nonstructural trim; metallic effect and finish require a physical sample |
| EVA rear grip / foregrip and cap | Charcoal direction using 432 C as a visual reference only; approve an actual EVA master sample | Charcoal direction using 432 C as a visual reference only; approve an actual EVA master sample |
| Recessed cap emblem | PANTONE 3165 C reference if filled | PANTONE 5195 C reference if filled |
| FUJI frames, inserts and seat hardware | Keep the genuine catalog finish. Do not recolor guide inserts, paint frames, or refinish FUJI hardware to force a PANTONE match. | |
Color and finish approval process
Keep decoration concentrated on the butt section, thin alignment marks and wrap boundaries; leave the upper blank visually quiet. Approve colors on curved coated blank coupons, cured thread wraps, trim and EVA separately. Assess the final topcoat and texture under controlled daylight and relevant alternate lighting. Coating sheen, surface texture, metallic viewing angle and translucent wrap finish can change perceived color.
Agree acceptable color difference, gloss, artwork placement, adhesion and wear criteria with the supplier after reviewing physical samples; no untested tolerance or universal Delta E limit is claimed here. Keep approved physical master samples for batch comparison. Rendered swatches, HEX/RGB conversions and screenshots are not approval standards. The two selectable colorway names identify design options, not guaranteed screen-to-product color matches.
Reference identities checked against PANTONE's color finder: 432 C, 3165 C, Warm Gray 1 C, 5195 C and 876 C. Catalog identity verification does not establish a physical match on this product.
Fishing methods and environments
Proposed uses include light surface popping, short controlled sweeps with floating stickbaits and retrieves with suitably weighted sinking stickbaits. Work from a boat with casting clearance or an open beach, bay mouth or accessible shoreline where a fish can be landed safely. Wind, current, lure drag and leader configuration all affect whether the outfit is appropriate.
This is not a dedicated heavy-surf distance rod, deep-water vertical jigging rod, trolling rod or heavy GT outfit. Large cupped poppers may impose more working resistance than slim stickbaits of equal mass. Do not assume that a 60 g popper is comfortable simply because its mass falls inside a proposed casting range.
Candidate target species
Bonito, bluefish and smaller trevally are candidate applications, subject to final rod tests, line system, fish size, structure and landing access. These examples are not species certifications or fish-weight ratings. For toothy fish, select a suitable bite-protection system and account for any effect on lure movement. Heavy structure, large GT and large tuna require a separately validated outfit.
Choosing a compatible outfit
Weigh the fully rigged lure first. Then check verified casting and comfortable lure-working ranges, choose line with known diameter and strength information, and confirm reel capacity, reel-seat fit and balance. PE class alone does not specify breaking strain. Leader knots must pass the chosen guide train cleanly. No maximum or working drag is assigned until controlled testing establishes a safe use specification; do not derive drag from fish weight or PE class alone.
Sample verification before release
The supplier approval record should contain measured assembled and packed lengths, finished mass, component identities, guide layout, joint engagement, reel-seat compatibility and repeatable action/power assessment. Casting trials should evaluate the lower, middle and upper rigged-lure targets with intended lure shapes. Any load or durability assessment needs a controlled method, documented rod angles and acceptance criteria agreed with the manufacturer, not an improvised hanging-weight demonstration.
Only confirmed results should replace these targets. Rendered proportions, labels and suggested configurations must not be used as fabrication dimensions. Clean and dry the rod after use, inspect joints and guides regularly, and never use the rod to lift fish onto a boat or high bank.

No. The images are concept renders. Supplier parts, dimensions and the final included contents must be confirmed separately.
Choose your finish and specification
Petrol Graphite pairs matte graphite charcoal with deep-petrol teal tide lines and satin silver details. Mist Aubergine pairs warm mist grey with muted aubergine tide lines, restrained copper-tone nonstructural trim and charcoal grips. Both use the same proposed titanium-frame guide specification; color names do not imply different FUJI frame coatings. These are proposed finish options, not confirmed stock.
Select Color, then review the 2.44 m / two-piece format and M / Fast / 20–60 g design specification. All proposed variants share PE1.5–3 and spinning configuration; the fixed choices make the selected specification explicit rather than introducing untested alternatives.
