Description

Product details

The GOOFISH® SANDWARD Three-Piece Surf Bait Spinning Rod is designed around open-beach bait fishing: a long two-handed handle, a three-section transport format and two distinct casting-payload targets. Choose the 3.35 m 1103MH direction for the lighter end of this surf-bait brief or the 3.66 m 1203H direction for a heavier complete rig. Cobalt Current pairs a saturated cobalt-blue lower and middle blank with silver-white diagonal graphics, charcoal EVA grips and a dark fine-tip transition.

Development disclosure: This rod is awaiting physical sample approval. Dimensions, weights, ratings, blank construction, component installation and packed sizes below are design targets, not measured production specifications. Images are generated appearance concepts, not photographs of manufactured samples or approved technical drawings. Final specifications must be validated before release.

Weigh the whole rig: the payload includes the sinker, bait, hooks, swivels, clips and other cast hardware. A 150 g sinker plus bait is not a 150 g complete payload. The top number is not an everyday recommendation, and neither range is released for use before sample validation. Ordinary controlled overhead casting is the intended method; pendulum and off-ground casting are not approved by this brief.

Power describes resistance to loading; Action describes where and how bending develops. H does not mean a faster action, a safe lifting load or a fixed fish-weight limit. Both tapers aim for a progressive Moderate-Fast response through the two joints. Recovery and fatigue behavior need their own measurements.

Where SANDWARD belongs

The intended setting is an open sandy beach with room behind the cast, safe footing and a practical landing route. Candidate presentations include a baited bottom rig placed with a controlled two-handed cast and monitored from a suitable holder. Choose sinker shape and complete rig for actual current, wind, bottom conditions and the final approved rating. The rod does not establish a fixed fishing depth or guaranteed casting distance.

Appropriately sized surfperch, whiting, pompano, flatfish and coastal drum are possible method contexts where local conditions and regulations allow. These names are not fish-weight or strength ratings. This is not a shark rod, cliff-lifting tool, overhead-reel rod, heavy-GT popping rod or substitute for a short boat-jigging outfit. Its long handle and stationary bait emphasis also make it a different choice from a dedicated shore metal-jigging rod.

Three sections, with the joints accounted for

Each model uses two proposed composite put-over joints. For 1103MH, the initial length chain is 1160 + 1160 + 1160 − 65 − 65 = 3350 mm. For 1203H, it is 1260 + 1260 + 1260 − 60 − 60 = 3660 mm. The deductions represent proposed engagement, not extra gaps to add. These are engineering inputs that may change after taper, wall and joint trials.

The transport goals include allowance beyond the nominal section length but exclude a cover. Measure the actual longest section before selecting a case or making travel plans. Three sections reduce transport length but add a second joint to inspect. Keep mating surfaces clean and dry; no external metal socket caps or decorative structural sleeves are specified. Fit, insertion force, wear allowance and removal method require supplier approval.

A long grip that suits the intended cast

The continuous charcoal EVA rear grip deliberately avoids a decorative split-grip gap. Initial rear-grip targets are 570 mm for 1103MH and 620 mm for 1203H, with an 80 mm foregrip on each. A plain triggerless pipe reel seat keeps this a spinning configuration. Try the actual two-hand reach, elbow clearance and loaded outfit rather than choosing by rod length alone.

FUJI DPSM20BC is the proposed common seat candidate. Catalog references give a 20 mm bore, 129 mm body length and outside diameters of 26.4 / 23.0 mm. Those are component dimensions, not blank dimensions or proof of reel compatibility. The sample must validate foot support, hood engagement, nut travel, arbors and adhesive interfaces. Genuine factory hardware finishes remain unchanged.

Starting reel trials use approximately 450 g loaded reel mass for 1103MH and 550 g for 1203H. Nominal 5000–6000 and 6000–8000 size classes are only screening labels because numbering varies. Actual foot geometry, spool, line capacity and loaded mass govern. Balance and tip-down moment will be measured; no ideal balance point or safe drag is claimed from a reel-size label.

FUJI component direction, with fit still to prove

The proposed BCKWAG train uses frosted dark-grey stainless frames and Alconite rings. For 1103MH, start with sizes 30, 20, 12 and 10, one each, plus four size-8 guides: eight guides in total. For 1203H, add a fifth size-8 runner: nine guides. Each also has a separate size-8 BCMNAT tip-top candidate. The tube bore and complete tip-top order combination remain unassigned until the finished blank tip is measured.

Catalog identity does not verify installation. Obtain current supplier drawings, genuine-source records and exact order notation; tape-fit and test each model's final guide layout with its actual reel, leader and knot. Confirm line-to-blank clearance under deflection, smooth knot passage and joint exclusion zones. Nominal ring size is not the same as measured clear passage. Do not grind ceramic rings or structural carbon to force a fit. Stainless hardware still needs saltwater care.

Cobalt Current, with purposeful branding

Saturated cobalt-blue is the main lower and middle blank color, with silver-white asymmetric diagonal graphics and alignment marks, charcoal EVA and cap, and a dark fine-tip transition. White lettering sits on blue, with black lettering permitted inside a silver-white graphic field. This replaces both earlier color proposals. Earlier PANTONE 1655 C and 3255 C references do not apply; final blue and silver-white physical color standards require approval before assigning replacement numerical references. Silver-white describes an appearance, not silver material or plating. The approved connected-double-O GOOFISH wordmark, SANDWARD model name and English parameter markings define the identity; generated lettering is not final production artwork.

Coatings, metal hardware, EVA, thread and ink require separate physical approval samples on their actual substrates. Paper color references are not paint recipes or measured render matches. Do not recolor functional rings, guide feet, tip bores, seat threads or joint mating surfaces. Final vector artwork, placement and print durability need approval.

Choose by complete rig and practical reach

Consider 1103MH when the lighter complete-rig range fits the intended beach presentation and you prefer the shorter transport goal and rear grip. Consider 1203H for the heavier target range when its longer reach and handle suit your casting space and build. The overlap does not make the two tapers interchangeable. Only these two model combinations and one Cobalt Current finish are planned.

PE numbers are line-size references, not guaranteed tensile strengths. Select line, leader, connection and terminal tackle as an outfit after sample trials. No working rod-load limit, recommended drag, proof-force minimum, destructive load, lifting capacity or distance claim is assigned. Those quantities are different and must not be inferred from Power, PE class, fish species or a concept illustration.

Care direction and sample-release checks

Planned contents are one selected three-section rod and a simple fabric section sock after fit approval. Reel, line, leader, sinker, bait, holder, hard case and landing equipment are not included. Shipping weight and outer packaging dimensions must be measured separately; development mass objectives are not shipping data.

Remove salt gently with fresh water, dry thoroughly and inspect rings, wraps and both joints before storage. Keep sand away from the reel seat and joints. Use the supplier-approved assembly method, check for movement during fishing and use appropriate landing equipment. Never lift a fish by the rod, high-stick or cast to break a snag.

Before release, approve each model's laminate and taper, Action/Power assessment, progressive bend through both joints, reel-seat bonding, guide layout, mass, balance, packed size, repeated-cast behavior, joint wear, coating flex and corrosion care. The responsible engineer must define guarded force-test fixtures, line routing, angles, loading rates, holds, cycles, acceptance limits and sample counts. Unsupported numerical force thresholds remain unassigned rather than being presented as tested strength.
