Annotated complete-rod and section concepts
These photographic-style design illustrations add English specification labels to the existing engineering brief. They are not stock photographs, scale drawings or verified FUJI component photographs. Guide positions and drawn section proportions are illustrative; the written candidate bill of materials and approved supplier drawings govern.

The GOOFISH® Wavearc 82MH is a saltwater stickbait spinning rod design for controlled sweeps, pauses and retrieves with floating or sinking stickbaits. Its proposed 2.49 m two-piece format combines a 40–100 g rigged-lure target with PE3–5, MH power and Moderate-Fast action. Wavearc names the lure's sweeping path; 82 denotes the approximately 8 ft 2 in format, while the controlling design length is 2.49 m.
This listing contains design targets awaiting sample approval. Generated images are concept visualizations, not photographs of manufactured stock, exact FUJI part drawings or proof of measured performance.
Design philosophy: control without an excessively rigid tip
Wavearc is intended to sit above a lighter popping outfit in rigged-lure range while focusing on stickbait control rather than repeated heavy cupped-popper loads. The tip should support controlled sweeps without excessive resistance, with progressive loading into the middle and butt. A two-piece layout supports transport, but actual packed length depends on the final joint design. The proposed equal-section put-over joint must be validated before production.
Recommended specification and selection parameters
| Parameter | Proposed target / verification status |
|---|---|
| Configuration | Spinning with a triggerless pipe reel seat |
| Length / sections | 2.49 m, two approximately equal sections; packed length unmeasured |
| Rigged lure range | 40–100 g including hooks, split rings and all attached hardware; casting and comfortable working ranges require separate testing |
| Line class | PE3–5 target; not a guaranteed breaking strain |
| Power | MH / Medium Heavy target; not inferred from fish weight or lure weight alone |
| Action | Moderate-Fast target; controlled progressive midsection engagement |
| Grip | Charcoal EVA split grip with a shallow longitudinal surface channel on the rear grip |
| Unassigned operating values | Safe working drag, maximum drag, finished mass, blank diameters, recovery measurements and lifting limits are not verified |
Action, Power and bending-profile requirements
Action describes where bending develops under a stated load; Power describes resistance to deflection. Recovery speed and damping must be evaluated separately. The Moderate-Fast target requires the upper section to initiate loading and then engage the midsection smoothly during casting and sustained loading, without a sharp hinge at the joint. It must not be replaced by a marketing label such as 7:3 or 2:8 without a defined test method.
Record the support span, rod angle, load direction and incremental load for each deflection comparison. Compare samples against an agreed MH reference and record recovery consistently. Do not force a nominal action label if casting and lure-control trials show the taper needs revision. A rendered bend curve cannot certify a physical rod.
Proposed FUJI bill of materials
Catalog identities below are supported by the Anglers Resource FUJI component listings. They are proposed parts, not confirmed installed components. The supplier must confirm genuine sourcing, current size-specific ordering codes and compatibility before approving the build.
| Assembly | Candidate model / initial sample layout | What must be checked |
|---|---|---|
| Reduction guide train | FUJI TKWSG-S titanium frame / Slim SiC insert; nominal sizes 30, 20 and 12, one each proposed | Confirm each catalog size/order code; use actual reel spool diameter, spool position, braid and leader knot to determine final layout |
| Running guides | FUJI TKTSG titanium / Slim SiC, nominal size 10; initially five runners proposed | Eight guides plus a tip-top is an initial sample arrangement only. Adjust guide count and spacing after load-path and casting tests |
| Tip-top | FUJI TMNST titanium / SiC, nominal ring size 10 proposed | Tube size is deliberately unassigned until the finished blank tip is measured. Ring size does not determine tube bore |
| Reel seat | FUJI DPSM20BC with gunsmoke hood; catalog dimensions: 20.0 mm inside diameter, 23.0 mm outside diameter and 129 mm length | Catalog dimensions are component data, not rod measurements. Confirm blank fit, bonded arbor design, reel-foot clearance and full locking engagement |
Do not paint or machine genuine FUJI guide frames, inserts or locking hardware for decorative color matching. Retain the catalog finish. Titanium frames and named inserts do not by themselves establish whole-rod durability, corrosion resistance or a safe drag value.
Component sources
Eight-part technical design requirements
01 Tip and tip-top

Evaluate loading with fully rigged lures at the lower, middle and upper design targets. The tip should support deliberate sweeps without collapsing or forcing excessively abrupt lure acceleration. Fit the TMNST tube to measured tip geometry; inspect insert edges, bonding and alignment. Blank tip construction and tube size must not be guessed from the illustration.
02 Guides and wraps
Run a static line-path evaluation through the agreed working envelope to check blank clearance. Test knot passage, line slap and tangling during casting with the intended reel and leader. Inspect each frame, insert, foot preparation, wrapping and cured finish. Do not copy rendered guide positions as production spacing.
03 Blank and taper

Develop the taper and reinforcement around the MH / Moderate-Fast targets and realistic stickbait resistance. Verify recovery and load transfer through the joint. Blank material, modulus, resin system and Solid Nano construction are not established for this model and must not be borrowed from existing rods.
04 Joint
Use sample-specific engagement and fit criteria for the proposed put-over connection. Confirm assembly alignment, repeat fit, loosening and stress concentration. Do not apply a spigot-gap specification to a different joint type. Final tolerances and reinforcement belong in supplier-approved engineering documents.
05 Foregrip

Use a short EVA support grip that leaves the locking hood accessible and does not interfere with hand placement. Determine dimensions through handling trials. Grip length is not authorization to high-stick or lift fish with the rod.
06 Reel seat
Use the triggerless DPSM20BC candidate. Test real reel feet rather than assuming compatibility from a generic reel size. Confirm hood engagement, bonded arbors and absence of rocking or loosening under repeated lure work.
07 Rear grip

Establish reel-foot-center-to-butt length by two-handed casting and sweep-clearance trials. The proposed shallow longitudinal EVA channel is an exterior grip treatment, not a cut in the blank or reel seat. Confirm comfort, adhesive assembly and durability on samples.
08 Butt cap and trim
Use a rounded protective cap with a recessed split-arc emblem. Avoid protruding ornaments and sharp trim edges. Confirm bonding and mass distribution. Decorative sealing does not establish a waterproof rod.
GOOFISH Split-Arc visual identity
Wavearc uses one restrained pair of interrupted arc strokes on the butt section, rather than a full-length pattern. Place an approved GOOFISH wordmark and smaller Wavearc 82MH identifier beside the artwork, with a separate compact specification panel. Use matching joint-alignment ticks, narrow wrap borders and the recessed split-arc butt emblem as repeatable brand details. Keep the upper blank visually quiet. This is a proposed GOOFISH design direction, not a patent or a claim of market-wide uniqueness.

Matte coating, metallic trim and EVA approval
Use genuine physical PANTONE standards, not screenshots or generated swatches. Warm Gray 1 C, 432 C, 5195 C and 3165 C are Solid Coated references; 876 C is a Metallics Coated reference. These references do not prescribe a rod-paint formula, EVA compound or anodizing process.
For low-gloss coatings, approve cured coated coupons on the actual substrate with the final clearcoat and surface texture. For metallic trim, approve the real metal finish under multiple viewing angles; metallic pigment and anodizing need not match a printed metallic reference identically. For EVA, approve density, texture, compression and a physical color master, then compare the assembled grip in the full outfit. Evaluate cured thread colors separately because resin can alter their appearance.
Agree measurable color, gloss, adhesion and wear criteria with the supplier after physical samples. Do not invent a universal Delta E tolerance or gloss value. Keep approved master samples for batch comparison. Renders do not constitute PANTONE-certified color matching.
Intended fishing methods and environments
Proposed applications are controlled sweeps, pauses and retrieves with floating or sinking stickbaits from an open boat deck, clear shoreline or accessible rocky coast with a safe landing plan. Current seams, bait schools and open-water edges are candidate situations, not guarantees that fish will be present. Conditions, casting clearance, wind, current and lure resistance determine whether the outfit is appropriate.
Small-to-medium yellowtail, appropriately sized trevally and smaller tuna are candidate applications only, subject to verified working limits, local conditions and landing access. Fish species alone cannot establish rod suitability. This is not a large-tuna, heavy-GT, surf-distance, trolling or deep-water vertical-jigging specification. A large cupped popper can produce a substantially different working load than a stickbait of the same mass.
Choose your variant and outfit
Select Aubergine Mist or Petrol Shadow. Both proposed color variants share 2.49 m / two-piece construction and MH / Moderate-Fast / 40–100 g targets with PE3–5. Fixed specification attributes make the choice explicit rather than creating untested length or power alternatives.
Weigh the fully rigged lure. Verify comfortable lure-working range separately from the casting range. Match measured reel capacity, line diameter, seat fit and outfit balance; PE class is not a breaking-strength guarantee. Confirm leader-knot passage through the size-specific guide train. Set drag only from verified operating guidance for the completed outfit, never from a guessed fish weight.
Supplier verification checklist before sale
Record actual assembled and packed lengths, finished mass, balance, tip and butt diameters, grip dimensions, genuine part codes, final guide train, joint engagement and reel-seat fit. Approve measured load-deflection behavior, recovery, casting and lure-control performance using documented methods. Controlled structural and durability assessments require manufacturer-defined procedures and acceptance criteria, not an improvised lifting demonstration. No usable drag or maximum fish-weight claim is assigned without those results.
Questions before choosing Wavearc
How does it differ from a light popping rod?
The proposed role is a higher rigged-lure range and more progressive stickbait-oriented loading, not simply a color change. The intended taper must prove that distinction in sample trials.
Are FUJI parts and performance already confirmed on a finished rod?
No. The named catalog components are proposed procurement candidates. Actual parts, fit and whole-rod performance await supplier approval.
Are the images photographs of stock?
No. They communicate proposed appearance and component locations. Use the written component specification and genuine FUJI geometry, not rendered part shapes, for engineering.
