I haven't used this rod yet but it does seem to have the characteristics of the purple diamond but with more backbone. Im honestly not thrilled with the color choice, however the rod isn't about fashion. I own almost every rod from goofish and quality and reliability is superb.
Had a great day off the coast of NC. This wahoo was a great prize. He hit my free line, which had a cigar minnow on it. Take a day or two off and go fishing.
Store owner replied:
What a fish — that's a serious trophy wahoo! 🎣 Huge congrats. You can't beat a free-lined cigar minnow; it's hands down one of the deadliest presentations for wahoo off the NC coast, and it sounds like it worked perfectly.
Couldn't agree more about taking a couple of days off to get offshore — there's nothing better. Next time you head out, keep a Goofish jigging rod rigged and ready as a backup; when the free line goes quiet, dropping a jig and burning it back is a great way to tempt another one up, and the Goofish backbone handles that kind of fight beautifully.
Thanks for sharing the catch — we'd love to see photos from your next trip. Tight lines out there!

First few drops and hooked up with a 50+ lb amberjack....definitely tested the drag. I can't wait to get it out again this weekend. I have 4 Goofish rods total and have had great experiences with them all.
Store owner replied:

La caña está de maravilla se maneja muy bien y tiene buen peso ,este combo de caña y carrete está perfecto para esta pesca de inshore pero pienso que también funciona para pesca de offshore solo cambiar el carrete por uno con más drag
Took advantage of the BOGO deal. My son took the silver and blue reel and the black and gold reel went to me. He is going to teach me to slow jig this summer and I'm looking forward to it. Love how fishing keeps me in the loop with my boys!! Thanks GooFish!!
Gave this reel to my son for his birthday. He has been eyeing it for some time and was very surprised to receive it as a gift. He has not used it yet but is already planning to take it on a trip this summer.
The rod arrived pretty fast and package is solid. I have not gotten a chance to use it, but I put two pieces together and put some weight on the tip of the rod to test it out. With 16 oz of weight, the rod bend a little bit and responded evenly when I pull the tip.
Thanks I’m really excited. Yes, very incredible fishing rods and reels. You guys have to offer super incredible. I fish hard I fish a lot. I fish deep I catch monsters truly.
Great rod value, just like anything you could buy a custom rod and get a better rod but you would also spend a lot more money, I'm just getting into jigging and I've only used this once but caught a 30" gag grouper without a problem.
I’m a captain in Alabama and love the rods and prices. Want to buy a few more for clients and get some swag to show off because my clients like the pretty colors of the rods. Check me out on instagram and Facebook at Endgame Fishing.
Quality looks good. The 20kg drop test makes me confident it has the power to land big fish. I will get a chance to test it out in July on a fishing trip to San Felipe.
