Planning your trout setup
Pair the rod with a suitable spinning reel, line and leader for freshwater trout fishing. Select lures within the 1/16–3/8 oz range according to your presentation and fishing conditions.
The two-piece construction makes storage and transport easier than with a full-length one-piece rod. Before fishing, seat the joint securely and align the guides. Check the joint periodically during use and protect both tips during transport.
Care and handling
L describes the Light tip designation, not a lifting capacity or drag setting. Use suitable landing equipment rather than lifting fish with the rod, avoid high-sticking and protect the tips during transport. Clean and dry the rod before storage.

Gave this reel to my son for his birthday. He has been eyeing it for some time and was very surprised to receive it as a gift. He has not used it yet but is already planning to take it on a trip this summer.
The rod arrived pretty fast and package is solid. I have not gotten a chance to use it, but I put two pieces together and put some weight on the tip of the rod to test it out. With 16 oz of weight, the rod bend a little bit and responded evenly when I pull the tip.

Great rod value, just like anything you could buy a custom rod and get a better rod but you would also spend a lot more money, I'm just getting into jigging and I've only used this once but caught a 30" gag grouper without a problem.
