The GOOFISH Monster Deep PE5–8 is a two-piece butt-joint jigging rod with a Solid Nano blank, FUJI K-series guides with Alconite inserts and a FUJI reel seat. It is rated for recommended 300–800g jigs and a maximum jig weight of 1000g.
For your next boat session, choose the reel configuration first: spinning, standard casting, left spiral-wrap casting or right spiral-wrap casting. The approximately 213cm rod separates near the handle and has a packed length of approximately 160cm, so check your transport space before ordering.

Choose your reel configuration
Spinning: approximately 329g, with 8+1 guides, for a compatible spinning reel.
Standard casting: approximately 327g, with 10+1 guides and a straight guide layout.
Left spiral-wrap casting: approximately 327g, with 10+1 guides, for right-handle reels.
Right spiral-wrap casting: approximately 327g, with 10+1 guides, for left-handle reels.
Spiral-wrap direction refers to the guides, not the reel-handle side. Read the full variant name and match the reel before ordering. Spinning and casting configurations are not interchangeable.
Jig weight, line class and safe handling
Choose within the recommended 300–800g jig range for your intended technique and conditions. The 1000g maximum is a separate upper rating, not the default weight for every depth or current. Do not interpret vertical-jigging guidance as a casting-weight allowance.
PE5–8 is a line-sizing class, not 5–8lb test. Check your actual braid's diameter and stated strength along with reel capacity, leader and connections. Static deadlift figures and bend demonstrations are not recommended fishing-drag settings or permission to lift fish with the rod.
Butt-joint assembly and care
Align the sections and seat the joint according to its intended fit, leaving the reserved 1–2cm gap. Do not force the sections flush. Check the connection before use and do not pull on guide frames when separating the rod.
Avoid high-sticking and use suitable landing equipment. Inspect guide inserts and the reel-seat locking ring before fishing. Rinse away saltwater residue with fresh water, allow the rod to dry and protect the tip and joint during transport.

First few drops and hooked up with a 50+ lb amberjack....definitely tested the drag. I can't wait to get it out again this weekend. I have 4 Goofish rods total and have had great experiences with them all.

Gave this reel to my son for his birthday. He has been eyeing it for some time and was very surprised to receive it as a gift. He has not used it yet but is already planning to take it on a trip this summer.
The rod arrived pretty fast and package is solid. I have not gotten a chance to use it, but I put two pieces together and put some weight on the tip of the rod to test it out. With 16 oz of weight, the rod bend a little bit and responded evenly when I pull the tip.

Great rod value, just like anything you could buy a custom rod and get a better rod but you would also spend a lot more money, I'm just getting into jigging and I've only used this once but caught a 30" gag grouper without a problem.
